How we would have improved our Bridge for a version 2.0?
We feel that we would have added an arch or something on the edges of our bridge. The reason our bridge broke so easily is because we didn't have a part that didn't make the forces go all round. Our bridge had all the forces coming down in the middle. Also, we should have focused on making a unique design that has its own twist to make it a strong bridge. Additionally, we should have made our pathway more sturdy, we felt it was to smooth and fragile. Part of the pathway broke a couple days before the competition and our solution was to beef up the bottom of the bridge and that didn't work in stabilizing the bridge. We should have created a sophisticated design that would have effieciently been able to hold the weight.
Suggestions for next year's competition?
We suggest that there should be a cheaper way to organize this competition. We felt as a group that we spent too much money on epoxy glue and Spaghetti. Maybe there can be different glue, like elmers glue that possibly would be cheaper and work about just the same.The rules or criteria was honestly extremely fair and we felt the competition constraints were fair and reasonable. A rule that there should be is a 100 dollar limit for materials. Furthermore, to lower the amount of money that people spend on the materials.
